Cheap Sneaks
I’m not really a big fan of sneakers but I don’t mind wearing them from time to time. My only problem with my sneaker non-fandom is that I tend to only own one pair of sneakers at any given time. I don’t really like to invest so much money on a pair of sneakers since I know that I would only get to wear them on the weekends. The company I work for has a business professional dress code so sneakers are only allowed on Friday nights (unless they declare it a dress down month).
And since it’s dress down month at work for the whole of December, I’m forced (not really) to wear sneakers. Athletic shoes are not allowed so I resort to either my leather shoes or my only pair of sneakers. I get bored with things easily so I decided that it was high time for me to buy a new pair. Then again, I really did not have a high time, or any time at all, to buy them sneaks.
Until one day when the boyfriend and I went to Cash n Carry Mall (yes, they are a mall now!) to buy some basic necessities for the house as well as some things which he needed for his Sagada trip. While waiting for him finish his micro-shopping, I headed into the direction of Mint. My intention was to buy a jacket and that was it (will post the jacket here soon). I ended up buying a jacket, a shirt and a pair of wayfarer-ish glasses.
The store right beside Mint is Otto. I never really paid attention to it since it was really unnoticeable. But when I stepped in, I saw the poor man’s shoe heaven. It was MY heaven! Okay, I’m exaggerating. B Club is my heaven. And Wade too. I went around Otto and found some interesting shoes at very friendly prices. Then I saw this pair of sneakers and kaboom! It hit me! I want sneakers!
About P700.00, that was the price of the sneaks I originally wanted. When I asked for my size, I was dismayed because they didn’t have it. So I dismissed the sneaker idea and decided to just continue looking around. Then I saw this lovely pair of sneakers:
